Oakley Kwon is an award winning actor, policy maker and innovator. She is also a film producer who heads up Loom Films, and serves on the Boards of WIFT Australia, Asian Food and Film, and the QLD Community Television Association Inc.
Oakley was a recipient of the Equity Ensemble Award for her role as Diane Tran in the television miniseries, Hungry Ghosts (Matchbox Pictures/NBCU). Her credits include 'When The Sky Was Blue', a short film that won the Screen Producers Award in 2023. It also includes 'Memoir of a Haunting', a short film that was an official selection of Flickerfest, 'Danger Close: Battle of Long Tan', 'Neighbours', 'Bloody Hell', 'Troppo', 'Harrow' and many more.
Oakley is passionate about diversity and inclusion across all industries, and making stuff real. She hopes to make stuff very real for Queenslanders with a story to tell or a desire to break into the highly competitive world that is film and television.
Oakley holds a bachelors and masters of Law from the Australian National University and is currently completing her Diploma in Film and Television and Masters in Artificial Intelligence.
Aven Yap is a classical pianist turned filmmaker. Born in Malaysia and raised in Brisbane, Aven has worked across a diverse slate spanning Asia and Australia. His credits include true-crime documentary 'Mama's Boy' (Melbourne Women in Film Festival 2018) and multilingual factual series 'The Yoga Revolution' which was shot in five Asian countries. His award-winning short film 'Piano Mums' currently has a feature adaptation in development with Screen Queensland and Screen Australia and he was one of six writers selected by the Australian Writers’ Guild to participate in Equity Foundation’s 2018 Talent Diversity Showcase.
Aven has previously worked with WildBear Entertainment across 40+ hours of factual content for the ABC as well as the Sundance feature documentary 'Playing with Sharks'. Aven currently works at Hoodlum Entertainment as a Story Development Executive and was selected to participate in Screen Producers Australia's 2022 Ones to Watch program. Aven has also lectured on creative producing at JMC Academy and spoken at conferences including SPA Screen Forever 37 and Pitch Fest Canberra 2023.
Aven holds an Associate Diploma in Piano Performance (Distinction) from the Trinity College of London and has been playing piano for almost two decades.
